Sandstone sculpture, face - 17cm large

A carved sandstone face that sits with quiet presence, hand-shaped to catch light across its surface. Each sculpture is shaped from genuine stone by hand in Indonesia, which means no two are precisely alike. Natural shifts in colour and pattern across the surface mark the artisan's touch. Small cowrie shells and jute detail the piece; these materials prefer drier spaces and respond well to a gentle brush.
