Balai is woven from water hyacinth, a plant fibre with a warm, earthy smell that softens with time. The interplay of lighter and darker strands means no two baskets are identical — small, honest differences that come with making things by hand. Roomy enough for a full load of laundry, or generous enough to hold a large plant in a hallway or living room.

The handles make it easy to move, and the dense weave keeps its shape even after years of regular use. At 2 kg it sits firmly and confidently on the floor.
